10 Days of Astronomy 2023
That time of the year when science and astronomy are in the center of attention in our small town is approaching again. This year, the 13th in a row, the manifestation of 10 Days of Astronomy takes place from April 14 to 23, 2023.

The official opening is in the Social and Cultural Center Daruvar (Trg Presvetog Trojstva 4, Daruvar), starting at 6:00 p.m.This year's 10DA is held under the auspices of the Ministry of Science and Education and as part of the international dark sky week. #DarkSkyWeek
Below you will find a detailed list of all the activities that await you at this year's 10DA. All activities, especially those that need to be held outside, are subject to change, about which we will inform you in time. All lectures and activities (except where otherwise stated) are held in the Social and Cultural Center (ex Hrvatski dom).
Friday, 14.04.
• gathering of astronomical societies
• 18:00 - ceremonial opening of 10DA and the Meeting of Astronomical Societies of Croatia
• 19:00 - lecture dr.sc. Bojan Vršnak: “Sun”
• 20:30 - dinner for lecturers and participants
• 22:00 - Petrov vrh star party (International Dark sky park Vrani kamen)
Saturday, 15.04.
• beginning of marking “International Dark sky week 2023”
• 10:00 - astro kindergarten (Dubravka i Sunčica Prević, Vernesa & dog Kip)
• 12:00 - assembly of the Croatian Astronomical Association and the association "Naše nebo"
• 16:00 - workshop about the Sun for preschoolers (led by Dorian Božičević) and observation of the Sun from the main town square
• 19:00 - lecture prof.dr.sc. Marijan Herak: “Earthquake!”
• 20:30 - dinner for lecturers and participants
• 22:00 - night sky observation from the main town square
Sunday, 16.04.
• 11:00 - observation of the Sun from the main town square
• 19:00 - lecture dr.sc. Željko Andreić: “Orientation using the Sun, daily and annual apparent motion of the Sun”
Monday, 17.04.
• 09:00 - workshop about the Sun fot 5th grader (led by Dorian Božičević)
• 11:30 - workshop about the Sun fot 8th grader (led by Dorian Božičević)
• 19:00 - lecture Ante Radonić: "Latest reasearch and exciting new space missions"
Tuesday, 18.04.
• 16:00 - workshop “STEA2M – Fractals all around us” (led by prof. Batinić, prof. Štor, prof. Miloš and high school “A. Šenoa” students from Garešnica, location Center of technical science Daruvar)
• 17:00 - professional council of physics teachers
• 19:00 - lecture dr. Lovro Palaversa: “Short histroy of the Milky way”
Wednesday, 19.04.
• 19:00 - lecture Korado Korlević: “The future belongs to us who are still willing to roll up our sleeves”
Thursday, 20.04.
• 10:00 - workshop & puppet show “STEA2M – Fractals all around us” (led by prof. Batinić, prof. Štor, prof. Miloš and high school “A. Šenoa” students from Garešnica, location “Vladimir Nazor” kindergarten)
• 12:00 - lecture Davor Horvatin and Denis Singer: “Astronomy in the classroom” (experience from Erasmus in Istanbulu)
• 19:00 - book presentation, dr.sc Saša Ceci: “Blesimetar 4” (Skeptics in DKC, moderator Mato Pejić)
Friday, 21.04.
• 16:00 - astrophoto workshop AD Beskraj from Zagreb
• 19:00 - lecture dr.sc. Vernesa Smolčić: “How did the Solar system form”
• 21:00 - night sky observation from the main town square
Saturday, 22.04.
• 10:00 - astro kindergarten: “How do dogs communicate” (Vernesa, Mirta & and Kip the dog)
• 11:00 - astrophoto workshop AD Beskraj from Zagreb
• 12:00 - observation and lecture about the Sun for children, Vernesa Smolčić (Wishing Well, Julijev Park as part of the Daruvar Flower Fair)
• 13:00 - "Little dog conversations" + children's corner: draw and color a dog, led by Mirta and Zrinka, (Julijev park, Daruvar Flower Fair)
• 18:00 - presentation and application of the new Law on Light Pollution
• 19:00 - lecture dr.sc. Lana Ceraj: “Hunt for cosmic beasts”
Sunday, 23.04.
• 16:00 - free screening of the film Sunshine (2007) in city movie theater
